KOKOMO, Ind. — Artwork created by nearly 100 juniors and seniors from north central Indiana will be showcased in the 23rd annual High School Art Exhibition at Indiana University Kokomo.
The exhibition opened with an awards ceremony Wednesday (May 23). It continues through Saturday, June 16, in the Art Gallery.
Gallery Director Tara Scott said the exhibit is the largest ever, with work from 92 student artists, representing 13 schools.
“For these high school students to be able to see their work is a big deal, and it lets them know it is appreciated,” said Scott. “We encourage everyone to come see what these talented juniors and seniors have accomplished.”
Maconaquah High School senior Dakota Swinford’s mixed media piece, “Memento Mori,” was chosen for the Best of Show Award.

The exhibit is free and open to the public in the Gallery, in the IU Kokomo Library Building, 2300 S. Washington St. Free parking is available on campus.
The IU Kokomo Art Gallery is open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Mondays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesdays, and noon to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. It is closed Sundays and Fridays.
