KOKOMO, Ind. — Indiana University Kokomo showcases its talented New Media, Art, and Technology (NMAT) faculty in the Art Gallery’s first exhibition of the 2018-2019 academic year.
The semi-annual exhibition gives students and community members an up-close look at the creative work of faculty, including sculptures, metal work, painting, screenprinting, and other media.
Opening reception is from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 29, in the Gallery, in the IU Kokomo Library building, 2300 S. Washington Street.
Our NMAT faculty are continuously creating and learning, to pass on new skills to their students,” said Tara Scott, Gallery director. “It’s important for our students to see that those who are mentoring them are working artists as well as teachers.”
The exhibition is a meaningful one for faculty members, said Minda Douglas, chairperson of the New Media, Art, and Technology program.
The show is a wonderful opportunity to show our work side by side with our colleagues,” she said. “It brings us together as a faculty and allows us to share our creative work with the campus community.”
