KOKOMO, Ind. —Start a new holiday tradition by attending the Cougar Choir and Harmonics Sounds of the Season.
Indiana University Kokomo students will perform traditional carols, such as “Bring a Torch, Jeanette Isabella,” “Jingle Bells,” and “A La Nanita Nana,” along with popular seasonal music by Broadway composers, including “Let It Snow,” “Sleigh Ride,” and “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” during the Victorian-themed concerts, set for December 8 and December 10.
“There’s nothing like music for creating a festive holiday atmosphere, and this show has something everyone will enjoy,” said Wendy Grice, director and lecturer of music. She noted that the students designed and decorated the set for the Kresge Auditorium stage, and will wear Victorian costumes for the second half of the family-friendly show.
The shows are free and open to the public at 7 p.m. Friday, December 8, and 3 p.m. Sunday, December 10. Free parking is available on campus.
The 32-member Cougar Choir is the campus musical organization, open to all students, with no audition required. The Harmonics is a smaller ensemble of choir members, selected by audition.
Indiana University Kokomo serves north central Indiana.
