KOKOMO, Ind. — Indiana University Kokomo welcomes Jake Medlen as the new director of development.
Medlen began his new position Monday, November 2. He plans to build relationships with students, alumni, faculty and staff, and friends of the campus, as he leads fund-raising efforts for scholarships and capital campaigns.
“I look forward to the opportunity to help our students achieve their hopes and dreams, by connecting our community and campus to provide scholarship opportunities, and enhance our facilities,” said Medlen. “This is a unique opportunity for me to serve IU in my home community, and impact its future.”
Jan Halperin, vice chancellor for university advancement, said Medlen has deep roots in the community. He grew up in Greentown and graduated from Eastern High School, where he was a multi-sport varsity athlete.
“His years of experience in development, including his early career with the Indiana University Foundation, have made him well-prepared to take on the challenges of fund raising for our Bicentennial campaign,” she said. “Jake is a wonderful addition to our University Advancement team.”
Medlen earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from IU. Previously, he was an account manager at Angie’s List, a gift-planning officer at Butler University, and director of development at Alpha Sigma Phi Foundation.
Jake and his wife, Amanda, have two children.
Indiana University Kokomo serves north central Indiana.
