School of Business to host annual economic outlook panel

October 30, 2019

KOKOMO, Ind. – Learn more about the economic forecast for 2019 by attending the annual Indiana University Kelley School of Business Economic Outlook breakfast at IU Kokomo.

Hosted by the School of Business, the event is set for 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 20, in the Kelley Student Center, Room 130, 2300 S. Washington St. Dean Alan Krabbenhoft will present the local forecast, joined by Kelley School of Business faculty Mark Frohlich, associate professor of operations management; Catherine Bonser-Neal, associate professor of finance; and Ellie Mafi-Kreft, clinical associate professor of business economics and public policy, who will present state, national, and international projections.

Krabbenhoft said economic outlook breakfast is a key event for the School of Business each year.

“It shows the commitment of IU to work with communities across the state to provide vital information that may influence personal or business decisions,” he said. “I think it’s very important because it brings in an audience from outside campus, and identifies the fact we are an integral part of our region. We are concerned not only about the current economic conditions, but what the future might hold.”

Registration is $20 per person, and sponsorships are also available. Register at IU Kokomo economic outlook breakfast. For more information contact Terri Butler at tbutler@iuk.edu, or 765-455-9275.

The Kelley School has presented an annual Business Outlook forecast around the state since 1972, based on research from its Indiana Business Research Center. The center has provided crucial economic information needed by many Indiana businesses, government units and nonprofit organizations since 1925. The forecast draws upon econometric models developed by the Center for Econometric Model Research and the insights of a select panel of Kelley faculty members.

The tour is sponsored by the Kelley School of Business, the Kelley School of Business Alumni Association, the IU Alumni Association, IU campuses and numerous community organizations.

At IU Kokomo, Community First Bank is presenting sponsor.
