Libby Kimbrough preparing to install artwork

Creativity harmonizes in new art exhibition

January 28, 2016
KOKOMO, Ind. —Libby Kimbrough drew from her love of all forms of art to create Indiana University Kokomo’s newest art gallery exhibition.

Opening Wednesday, February 3, Harmony incorporates a variety of submissions that work together both visually and emotionally.

Kimbrough, a fine arts and psychology major from Windfall, planned the show as part of her gallery internship. Her appreciation for a wide variety of music and art inspired her to place an array of pieces together to work as one.

“Even though the artwork is inspired by various genres of music, the pieces seem to be a cohesion of the musical experience as a whole,” she said. “The inspiration the artists have range from Buddhist chants to grunge rock.”

The exhibit opens with a reception from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 3, in the Art Gallery, in Upper Alumni Hall. Free parking is available on campus. It continues through Saturday, March 5.

The IU Kokomo Art Gallery is open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays, and 12 to 4 p.m. Saturdays. The gallery is closed Fridays and Sundays.
