KOKOMO, Ind. — Local artisans will sell handmade goods at Indiana University Kokomo at the 24th annual Staff Council Arts and Crafts show Saturday, November 7.
The event is free and open to the public and will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Kelley Student Center. The Cougar Country Café will be open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the show. Free parking is available on campus.
The show is the largest fundraiser of the year for the staff council. It began with faculty and staff making and selling their own handmade items to the campus community. Since then, it has transformed into an event that invites the public to buy and sell special handcrafted items.
Proceeds provide student scholarships and other assistance.
LeeAnn Salmons, staff council vice president, said that the event showcases IU Kokomo and provides an opportunity to support students.
“The craft show is very convenient for people,” she said. “It brings many people to the campus who might not otherwise come here and allows them to shop for a wide range of handmade artisan products.”
