Cougar Choir makes debut with free concert

April 24, 2015
KOKOMO, Ind. — Indiana University Kokomo’s newest musical group makes its debut with a free concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 3, in Kresge Auditorium.

The Cougar Choir, a 20-member student group, will perform a variety of selections, including traditional choral favorites and folk songs, along with popular Broadway and Disney songs.

“We think there is something for everyone,” said Director Wendy Grice, lecturer in music, who teaches the choir class. “This will be great entertainment for the whole family, and we encourage everyone to come.”

Along with the choir numbers, the concert features duets and a special visit from the Soggy Bottom Boys, a quartet that includes IU Kokomo’s Cody Kopke that won second place in Indiana State Fair competition.

Grice said students chose the choir’s name, created a logo, designed a poster for the concert, and created a slide show for the concert.

Admission is free, and free parking is available on campus.

Indiana University Kokomo serves north central Indiana.
