KOKOMO, Ind. — The Indiana University Kokomo Class of 2015 begins a new tradition of an indoor ceremony at the Kokomo Event and Conference Center and an afternoon rather than a morning ceremony.
Brittany Cole, interim director of alumni relations and campus ceremonies, said the move allows the event, at 1 p.m Tuesday, May 12, to be in the same location regardless of weather, with no tickets required.
“We are excited our graduates will be able to share this most important day with all their family and friends in a new indoor venue,” she said. “It is a wonderful place to honor our graduating class.”
The annual honors convocation and nursing recognition ceremony will move off campus for 2015 only, due to the Main Building renovation project.
The nursing recognition ceremony is at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 7, at First Church of the Nazarene, 2734 S. Washington St., Kokomo. The Honors Convocation is at 6 p.m. Monday, May 11, in the Central Middle School Auditorium, 303 E. Superior Street, Kokomo.
Graduates may begin preparing for Commencement by ordering their caps and gowns at the Grad Fair, from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, outside the campus bookstore.
