KOKOMO, Ind. — Do you know what your Cougar Card can do for you?

getcougarcardAn Indiana University Kokomo Cougar card serves as a student identification card, and much more.

In addition to using the Cougar Card to check out library books, access the Cole Fitness Center, and purchase computer software or sell back books in the campus Barnes & Noble bookstore, students may also put money on the card, to use in the bookstore or the Cougar Country Café instead of cash.

Bursar Karen Shaw said by using EZ Deposit during registration, students who rely on financial aid to purchase textbooks will be able to buy their books earlier.

"They will be able to use their Cougar Card to buy books from the bookstore when they go on sale, rather than waiting for financial aid refunds," she said. "Students who do not receive financial aid can choose our payment plan, to split their book charges into payments, by using EZ deposit."

EZ Deposit is available during registration. Students may choose to put $250 or $500 on the Cougar Card. That amount is billed to the student's Bursar account, where it is paid with financial aid, scholarships, grants, or other methods of payment.

Money on the card can also be used to buy food at the Cougar Country Café. Campus officials are working to secure discounts at local businesses with the cards.

Cougar Cards are available without appointment in the Bursar's Office, Kelley Student Center Room 205, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, go to www.iuk.edu/cougarcard.

Indiana University Kokomo serves north central Indiana.
