Writers and artists who have contributed to the online and print editions in the last five years will display or read their works during the opening reception, from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Art Gallery. Artwork from the April 2012 print edition and the upcoming online edition, which will be released in November, will be on exhibit in the gallery through Saturday, October 13.
Andrew Turley, editor of the student-run journal, said the live edition reception is "a great chance for fans to come meet our contributors, and pick their brains.
"It's one thing to read someone's work, it is another thing to actually meet them and ask questions about it," he said.
He is excited to have cover art from every issue displayed, showing how the journal has evolved since the first edition.
"It started with just a few people and our faculty sponsor, Eva White, and has grown into a professional journal the campus can be proud to own," he said.
White hopes the campus and community will come celebrate the journal's first five years.
"The Live Issue is a great event because not only does it allow us to celebrate the art and writing featured in the print and online issue for that year live, but it also offers the opportunity to recognize the hard work of the staff and interns, which is mainly done behind the scenes," White said.
From the Well House publishes a print edition each spring, and an online edition each fall, including artists and writers from around the world. Submissions are accepted throughout the year.
