Campus remembers Martin Luther King, Jr. with timeline, pictures

KOKOMO, Ind. – Indiana University Kokomo will remember the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with an exhibit this Thursday, January 12, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the Kelley Student Center.

Martin Luther King, Jr.Martin Luther King, Jr.“Honor the Life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. – Walk in the Footsteps of a Servant Leader,” will be available in the Kelley Student Center, Room 130A. The free event includes a timeline and pictures of King’s life and accomplishments. There will also be streaming of King’s sermons and speeches playing throughout the day.

To honor King’s servant leadership, those attending are encouraged to visit with representatives of New Leaf Mentoring, Loving Hands Adult Day Care Inc., Bridges Outreach and 2-1-1 United Way of Howard County, who will be available to talk about area volunteer opportunities.

The exhibit is free and open to the public. Those without campus parking permits should follow signs to free visitor parking.

Indiana University Kokomo will be closed on Monday, January 16, in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.
