KOKOMO, Ind. – Children and parents in the Kokomo area are invited to celebrate Halloween with Indiana University Kokomo!
On Friday, October 28, IU Kokomo’s 21st Annual Halloween Open House will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Kelley Student Center.
The event is open to area children ages ten and under. Admission is $1 per child, but free for parents.
Children are welcome to trick-or-treat in their costumes, play games, have their face painted or make small crafts at the decorated booths.
“Cars 2” will also be showing at Kresge Auditorium at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
For years, hundreds of children have come to trick-or-treat with the IU Kokomo community.
“The Halloween Open House event is a campus tradition that started over 21 years ago,” said Sarah Sarber, dean of students. “It was started to provide children in the community with a safe trick-or-treating alternative. Each year, we have approximately 400 area children in attendance.”
Attending children must be accompanied by an adult and are encouraged to bring their own bag.
The open house is sponsored by the Student Union Board and many other student organizations and campus departments.
