KOKOMO, Ind. – For the Golden Dragon Acrobats, gravity is no problem. After all, their stunning feats have been defying it for more than 30 years.
See for yourself when the Golden Dragon Acrobats come to the Indiana University Kokomo campus on Friday, October 7. The event, sponsored by the Student Union Board, will take place at 7 p.m. in Havens Auditorium.
A typical day for the acrobats consists of balancing each other on their heads, leaping through hoops, juggling umbrellas, and building human pyramids on moving bicycles.
Geny Studebaker, president of the Student Union Board, is excited for the show.
“The audience should be prepared to sit on the edge of their seat!” Studebaker said. “This is a huge event for our campus. We are thrilled to be able to bring the Golden Dragon Acrobats here.”
Combining astonishing acrobatics, traditional dance, dramatic costumes, ancient and contemporary music, and theatrical thrills, the Golden Dragon Acrobats make for dazzling entertainment.
The Golden Dragon Acrobats have toured around the world, performing in all 50 states and more than 65 countries. The company starred on Broadway for six weeks and received two prestigious New York Drama Desk nominations for their performance.
“The show is friendly for all audiences, and the tickets are highly affordable,” Studebaker added.
Tickets are available now through the Office of Student Activities in the Kelley Student Center, Room 210. Students will receive one free ticket with a valid IU Kokomo ID. Faculty, staff, and the general public are invited to attend for $5 per person.
