KOKOMO, Ind. – Indiana University Kokomo will host a summit of the region’s mayors to exchange ideas and best practices to improve economic development and business opportunities for north central Indiana. The event, which is open to the public, will take place on Wednesday, July 6, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Art Gallery, located near the Library.
We are pleased to have these leaders join us on campus and strategize how we can work together to move our region forward,” said Chancellor Michael Harris. “IU Kokomo continues to be a driving force in regional transformation by providing leadership and education needed to attract business and industry.”
A recent report from the U.S. Conference of Mayors will be a point of discussion, as mayors from cities in the region will have the opportunity to interact and investigate a variety of topics. The mayoral panel will also provide the opportunity for talks on economic realities facing their cities and explore ideas for continual collaboration and enhanced economic development. To date, 11 mayors within the IU Kokomo service area plan to attend.
