KOKOMO, Ind. – Original artwork created by Indiana University Kokomo students may be viewed in the Art Gallery, as part of the annual Student Art Show. The exhibits – which feature paintings, drawings, sculptures, mixed media and video – will be on display in the gallery through May 14.
As in previous years, exhibits displayed in the art show challenge theories, stimulate imaginations, and entertain gallery visitors.
During a special reception April 13, judges announced winning pieces of the show. Senior Jeni Singleton submitted several pieces of work for the show, resulting in being awarded Best of Digital Media and Best of Drawing and Painting for two of her exhibits.
“I was very surprised and very honored to have won those recognitions,” said Singleton, who is majoring in humanities and fine art. “There are a lot of talented artists showcasing their work in this show, so there’s a lot to see and something for everyone.”
The Art Gallery, which is located in Alumni Hall, is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. The gallery is closed Sunday, Monday, and Friday. Persons without campus parking permits should follow signs to visitor parking. For more information, call (765) 455-9523 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
